Olan Truelove currently serves as the Chaplain with VFW POST 6022 Cottondale, AL.  He was born in Lamar County AL 1951.  After graduation from Sulligent H.S in May 1969 Mr. Truelove enrolled at Brewer State Community College, now (Bevell State) in Fayette, AL for (1) one semester.

After receiving a draft notice for induction into the U S Army Mr. Truelove volunteered for duty with the USAF.  After basic training at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX in security Mr. Truelove duty stations included, Kessler AFB in Biloxi, MS, Camp Bay AB SEA, Da Nanh AB SEA, Malstrom AFB Great Falls MT, discharged with the rank of Airman First Class, after relocation back to Alabama Mr. Truelove enrolled at North West AL State Technical College in Hamilton, AL now (Bevell State) in Welding & Blue Print Reading for Welders with a certificate of completion after (18) eighteen months, he began his welding career as an apprentice with Harvel Steel a (TVA) Tennessee Valley Authority subcontractor in the production of energy emissions filtration systems used to reduce greenhouse gas pollution from coal power generating stations.  From there his path lead him to Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula MS where he advanced to journeyman Boiler Maker to first class pipe welder certified in lube oil and steam on Naval Surface Aircraft and Destroyers.  Mr. Truelove specialized as a Welding Technician with Halter Marine.  Mr. Truelove worked in construction jobs which followed him from the Florida coast to Texas where he worked on one of the last commissioned Nuclear Power station in 1983 as a weld technician in Glen Rose, TX at Comanche Creek. While there he completed his degree in Industrial Education with a BAAS in May 1982.  After returning to AL Mr. Truelove was a founding member of a group that formed and incorporated Northwest AL Recycle Center as (COO and operated a fully equipped weld repair shop retired) that will be celebrating 30 years soon.  Mr. Truelove is a member of the (AWS) American Welding Society, a volunteer with the Tuscaloosa County Juvenile Detention Center, A Public Arbitrator.
